HVLG Wallis Wall Sconce – Polished Nickel

The Wallis Wall Sconce in Polished Nickel is a striking decorative wall light composed of slender vertical rods arranged at varying heights to create an elegant, cascading architectural silhouette. The combination of polished nickel metalwork and clear glass elements gives the fitting a luminous, almost jewel-like character while maintaining a distinctly modern profile.

Rather than relying on a conventional shade, Wallis surrounds its light sources with a layered cylindrical composition of elongated rods. Their staggered arrangement extends above and below the central body, creating movement and allowing glimpses of light through the structure. When illuminated, the clear elements catch and refract the light while the polished nickel surfaces introduce crisp reflections.

The design has clear Art Deco and Mid-Century glamour references, reinterpreted with a lighter contemporary sensibility. Its elongated proportions make Wallis particularly effective in formal living spaces, dining rooms, entrance halls and sophisticated hospitality interiors.

Why You'll Love It

Wallis creates impact through rhythm, reflection and repetition. The numerous vertical elements form an intricate outer screen around the light source without making the fitting appear visually solid.

Polished nickel is particularly successful on this design because its cool reflective surface amplifies the transparency of the glass. As the viewing angle changes, individual rods alternately reflect, disappear and catch the light, giving the sconce considerably more depth than a conventional metal wall fitting.

Its jewellery-like quality makes Wallis an excellent choice when a wall light needs to function as a decorative feature rather than simply provide background illumination.

Styling Inspiration

For an Art Deco Glamour interior, install Wallis in pairs beside a large mirror, fireplace or console. Combine it with black lacquer, richly veined marble, polished nickel and smoked or antiqued mirror. The repeated vertical rods echo the strong geometric detailing associated with Deco interiors while the staggered composition prevents the design from feeling overly formal.

For a 1970s Glamour scheme, position Wallis against a darker wall treatment such as chocolate brown, charcoal, smoked timber or high-gloss lacquer. Introduce chrome, glass, sculptural seating and a deep-pile rug. Its cascading reflective construction works particularly well with the glamorous metallic and glass-heavy interiors associated with the decade.

In a Boutique Hotel setting, use Wallis to frame a console, cocktail bar or entrance feature. Pair with dark timber, polished stone and richly textured upholstery, allowing the reflective nickel and glass to become a brighter focal point within the more atmospheric surroundings.

For a Contemporary Luxe interior, contrast the intricate sconce with restrained architectural finishes such as pale stone, warm grey walls or finely detailed timber panelling. Keep nearby accessories minimal so the vertical glass composition becomes the principal decorative element.
