HVLG Mitzi Lighting Tara Wall Sconce – Old Bronze

The Tara Wall Sconce in Old Bronze is a slender, architectural wall light characterised by its elongated vertical proportions and exposed tubular light sources. Two opposing lamp holders extend above and below a central circular backplate, creating a balanced composition with a distinctly graphic quality.

Finished in Old Bronze, the metalwork has a dark, softly aged character that gives the minimalist silhouette greater warmth and depth than a conventional black finish. Sculpted tapered lamp holders provide a subtle decorative transition between the fine central stem and elongated tubular bulbs.

Tara draws on Mid-Century Modern and contemporary architectural lighting, with a restrained industrial undertone created by the exposed light sources. Its exceptionally narrow profile makes it particularly effective where vertical emphasis is required without adding visual bulk.

Why You'll Love It

Tara achieves visual impact through proportion rather than ornamentation. Its long exposed bulbs dramatically extend the vertical line of the fitting, while the compact circular backplate keeps the overall composition clean and restrained.

The Old Bronze finish is particularly effective here. It softens the industrial character of the exposed bulbs and gives the sconce a more sophisticated residential quality, allowing it to coordinate naturally with walnut, smoked timber, marble, travertine and other warm materials.

Its narrow footprint also makes Tara particularly useful for architectural spaces where a larger decorative wall lamp would feel intrusive.

Styling Inspiration

For a Mid-Century Modern interior, install Tara against walnut panelling or a warm neutral wall beside a console or credenza. Pair with travertine, smoked glass and low-profile furniture. The exposed tubular bulbs and simple circular backplate complement the period's emphasis on functional geometry and refined material contrasts.

For a 1970s Italian Modernist scheme, use a pair of Tara sconces to frame a dramatically veined stone console or oversized artwork. Introduce dark timber, polished stone and sculptural furniture with rounded silhouettes. The long vertical lines provide a useful architectural counterpoint to the heavier, more expressive furniture forms.

For a Monochrome Art-Led interior, position Tara beside large-scale abstract artwork against warm white, charcoal or textured plaster walls. Keep surrounding accessories minimal so the exposed light tubes read almost as illuminated graphic lines within the composition.

In a Contemporary Luxe hallway or entrance, repeat several Tara sconces at measured intervals along the wall. Combine with stone flooring, dark timber joinery and restrained bronze details to create rhythm and depth without making a narrow space feel visually crowded.
