Rafael White Marble Coffee Table

The Rafael Coffee Table is a sculptural statement piece that combines the quiet luxury of a white marble top with the warmth and architectural character of a richly grained timber base.

Its broad circular top is softened by a gently rounded edge, allowing the natural tonal variation and subtle veining of the marble to remain the visual focus. Beneath, three substantial curved timber supports are positioned around the perimeter, each extending upwards to form a distinctive C-shaped surround that partially embraces the stone top.

This interplay between solid stone, warm timber and repeated curved geometry gives Rafael an almost architectural quality. The three supports create a strong sense of rhythm when viewed from different angles, while the open spaces between them prevent the substantial proportions from appearing overly heavy.

Rather than belonging to conventional contemporary furniture, Rafael has stronger references to 1970s Italian Modernism and contemporary collectible design, where natural materials, exaggerated geometry and sculptural construction become decorative features in their own right.

Why You'll Love It

Rafael is designed to be viewed as much as it is to be used. Its three-part radial construction gives the table a completely different appearance depending on where it is seen from, making it particularly effective at the centre of an open-plan living room.

The contrast is also carefully balanced. Cool white marble gives the piece refinement and visual lightness, while the substantial timber supports introduce warmth and depth. Their curved upper sections appear to wrap around the marble rather than simply supporting it, turning a functional construction detail into the table's defining feature.

Its rounded geometry also makes Rafael an excellent companion for curved sofas and sculptural lounge chairs.

Styling Inspiration

For a 1970s Italian Modernist living room, position Rafael in front of a low, generously curved sofa in cream, tobacco, chocolate or muted blue-grey upholstery. Add a pair of substantial lounge chairs, smoked glass lighting and selective bronze accents. The combination of marble, warm timber and exaggerated curved geometry naturally complements the expressive furniture forms associated with the period.

For an Organic Modern scheme, allow the material contrast to lead the room. Combine Rafael with oatmeal upholstery, textured wool, limewashed walls and restrained accessories in ceramic or aged metal. Its white stone top introduces natural variation while the timber base prevents an otherwise pale scheme from feeling overly cool.

For a Contemporary Luxe interior, give Rafael generous negative space and treat it as a functional sculpture. Pair it with an asymmetric sofa, one distinctive lounge chair and large-format abstract artwork rather than a conventional matching furniture suite. Architectural lighting will emphasise the repeated curved supports and shadows beneath the tabletop.

For a Modern Mediterranean setting, combine the table with warm plaster walls, limestone or travertine flooring and relaxed ivory upholstery. Add dark timber, hand-finished ceramics and aged bronze lighting in small amounts. The pale marble and substantial organic forms sit naturally within the warm, mineral-led palette.
