Livia Curved Sofa - Slate Blue

The Livia Curved Sofa in Slate Blue is a generously proportioned statement sofa defined by its sweeping silhouette, softly rounded upholstery and enveloping form. Designed with a continuous curved back that flows seamlessly into substantial rolled arms, Livia has a distinctly sculptural presence while retaining the relaxed comfort expected from a large luxury sofa.

A deep, broad seat follows the gentle curvature of the frame, creating an inviting lounge-like profile. The low concealed plinth allows the upholstered volume to appear almost grounded to the floor, reinforcing the sofa's substantial yet fluid character. Loose cushions introduce a softer, informal layer against the architectural outer shell.

Presented in Slate Blue, Livia takes on a more sophisticated and atmospheric character than a conventional neutral sofa. The muted blue-grey tone works particularly well with warm woods, travertine, bronze, aged brass and creamy natural stone.

Its combination of generous volume, rounded geometry and low-slung proportions draws on the expressive upholstered furniture of 1970s Italian Modernism, reinterpreted for contemporary interiors.

Why You'll Love It

Livia combines the visual impact of collectible sculptural furniture with the comfort and scale of an everyday luxury sofa.

Rather than relying on decorative detailing, its character comes from proportion and form. The substantial rolled arms, gently bowed back and broad curved seat create a continuous sequence of soft volumes, making the sofa visually impressive even within a restrained interior.

The Slate Blue colourway adds another dimension. Its blue-grey undertone provides more depth than beige or ivory while remaining sufficiently muted to work as a sophisticated foundation colour.

Its curved construction is particularly effective in open-plan interiors, where Livia can be positioned away from the wall and treated as an architectural element within the room.

Styling Inspiration

For a 1970s Italian Modernist interior, allow Livia to sit freely within the room rather than positioning it tightly against a wall. Pair the Slate Blue upholstery with a low smoked-glass or richly veined stone coffee table, dark walnut cabinetry and sculptural lighting. Introduce aged brass or bronze sparingly to create warmth against the cooler upholstery.

For a Contemporary Luxe scheme, treat Livia almost like a large upholstered sculpture. Position it alongside a monolithic travertine coffee table, an individually shaped lounge chair and oversized contemporary artwork. Keep the surrounding furniture deliberately limited so the sofa's sweeping silhouette remains clearly visible.

For a Contemporary Eclectic living room, combine the muted Slate Blue with tobacco leather, warm walnut, oxblood or burgundy accents and abstract artwork. A distinctive side table in stone, glass or patinated metal can introduce another material without competing with the sofa's form.

For a Boutique Hotel aesthetic, use Livia in a large lounge or reception-style arrangement with two contrasting lounge chairs positioned opposite its curve. Add a substantial low coffee table, layered architectural lighting and floor-length textured curtains. The result should feel intimate and luxurious rather than conventionally domestic.
