Michael Aram | Golden Ginkgo Catch All

The Michael Aram Golden Ginkgo Catch All transforms one of nature's most recognisable forms into a small sculptural object for the home. Inspired by the distinctive fan-shaped leaves of the ginkgo biloba tree, the piece captures the organic folds, fine veining and irregular edges of overlapping leaves in intricate relief.

Finished in a luminous gold tone, the leaves form a shallow vessel supported by contrasting dark stems. The juxtaposition of warm metallic surfaces and blackened botanical detailing gives the piece the handcrafted, nature-inspired character associated with Michael Aram's work.

Both decorative and functional, the Golden Ginkgo Catch All is ideal for holding jewellery, keys and other small treasures, while its sculptural form makes it equally compelling displayed empty as an objet d'art.

Why You'll Love It

The Golden Ginkgo Catch All combines the practicality of a small decorative tray with the presence of a miniature sculpture. Rather than relying on a conventional bowl shape, its overlapping leaves naturally create the vessel, allowing the botanical construction to remain central to the design.

The deeply articulated veining catches light across the gold surface, creating subtle variations in tone and texture throughout the day. The dark stems provide a striking counterpoint, reinforcing the impression that the piece has been translated directly from nature into metal.

Compact yet visually distinctive, it is an easy way to introduce a recognisable Michael Aram design into a console, bedside, dressing table or curated decorative display.

Styling Inspiration

For a Contemporary Luxe interior, position the Golden Ginkgo Catch All on a dark timber, marble or travertine console. Pair it with a sculptural table lamp and one or two restrained accessories, allowing the gold finish to provide a concentrated metallic accent.

For a Collectible Contemporary scheme, display it alongside art books, ceramics or other sculptural objects on an open shelf or console. Leave sufficient negative space around the piece so the layered leaves and dark stems remain clearly visible.

In a Boutique Hotel-inspired bedroom, use it on a bedside table or dressing table as an elegant place for rings, earrings, watches or other small personal items. Warm ambient lighting will emphasise the finely ribbed surface of the leaves.

For an Art Deco Glamour setting, place it against dark lacquer, richly veined stone or mirrored surfaces and repeat the gold tone sparingly through lighting or cabinet hardware. The metallic finish introduces glamour while the botanical form keeps the composition organic rather than overly formal.
