HVLG Mitzi Lighting | Evie Wall Sconce

The Evie Wall Sconce is a sculptural lighting piece defined by a dramatic folded ribbon-like metal form. A single sheet-like structure appears to sweep and curl around itself, creating an elegant vertical silhouette with changing planes, shadows and reflections.

Finished in a deep dark bronze tone, the curved metal shade partially conceals the light source, allowing illumination to escape indirectly through the open upper and lower sections and along the inner surface. The result is a softer architectural glow rather than exposed direct light.

Evie has a distinctly sculptural modernist character, drawing on the expressive metalwork and fluid geometry associated with 1970s Italian design. More decorative object than conventional wall lamp, it works particularly well where lighting is intended to become part of the architecture.

Why You'll Love It

Evie avoids the conventional shade-and-frame construction of a wall lamp. Instead, the metal itself becomes the sculpture, with a continuous curved form wrapping around the light source.

The asymmetric silhouette changes depending on the viewing angle, making the sconce particularly effective in entrances, hallways and spaces where it can be appreciated both frontally and from the side.

Its dark bronze finish gives the piece warmth and sophistication while remaining understated enough to coordinate with walnut, travertine, marble, textured plaster and other natural materials.

Styling Inspiration

For a 1970s Italian Modernist interior, position Evie against warm plaster, walnut panelling or deeply coloured walls and combine it with low-profile sculptural furniture, smoked glass and travertine. Its folded metal geometry strongly complements the experimental forms and material-led approach associated with Italian design of the period.

For a Contemporary Luxe scheme, treat Evie almost as a small piece of wall sculpture. Install it beside a monolithic console, pedestal or oversized artwork, leaving generous negative space around the fitting. Its asymmetric profile becomes considerably stronger when it is not surrounded by unnecessary decorative objects.

In a Contemporary Eclectic interior, contrast the dark metal with tactile materials such as veined marble, boucle, richly grained timber and handmade ceramics. The sconce introduces a sharper architectural element that prevents a layered interior from becoming overly soft.

For a Boutique Hotel setting, repeat Evie along a corridor or use a pair to frame an entrance, console or architectural opening. Dark timber, textured wall finishes and low-level ambient lighting will accentuate the shadows created by its folded form.
