Rafael Wood Top Coffee Table

The Rafael Coffee Table is a sculptural round coffee table combining a warm wood-finished top with architectural brushed brass supports. Defined by its low profile and strong radial geometry, Rafael transforms the structural elements of the table into its most distinctive decorative feature.

The broad circular top showcases a refined linear wood grain in a warm natural tone, bringing softness and material warmth to the composition. Around it, three substantial brushed brass supports curve beneath the tabletop before rising above its surface to form distinctive C-shaped collars. This unusual construction gives the table an architectural, almost jewellery-like quality when viewed from above or across the room.

The substantial curved bases provide visual weight while echoing the circular geometry of the tabletop. With its combination of warm timber, satin metallic surfaces and bold geometric construction, Rafael has clear references to 1970s Italian Modernism, yet its simplified detailing makes it equally suited to sophisticated contemporary interiors.

Why You'll Love It

Rafael turns what would normally be concealed table supports into the defining feature of the design. The three brushed brass structures wrap around the wooden top, creating a repeating architectural motif that changes visually as you move around the table.

The wood version has a distinctly warmer and softer character than a stone-topped coffee table. Its natural-looking grain brings visual texture, while the satin brass provides enough contrast to give the piece a luxurious presence without appearing excessively decorative.

Its circular format also makes Rafael particularly successful with curved sofas, swivel chairs and conversational furniture arrangements, where its radial design can be appreciated from multiple viewpoints.

Styling Inspiration

For a 1970s Italian Modernist scheme, position Rafael with a low curved sofa upholstered in chocolate, tobacco, caramel or warm cream. Introduce dark walnut cabinetry, smoked glass lighting and one sculptural lounge chair. The combination of rounded geometry, warm timber and brushed metal reflects the materially rich, expressive furniture associated with the period.

For a Contemporary Luxe living room, pair Rafael with an ivory or taupe curved sofa and deeply textured neutral upholstery. Add an alabaster chandelier or architectural pendant above, with restrained bronze accessories elsewhere in the room. Avoid introducing too many additional metallic finishes—the table's sculptural brass structure should remain the principal accent.

For a Parisian Contemporary interior, place Rafael against elegant wall mouldings, pale oak flooring and an oversized contemporary artwork. Contrast its substantial form with a slender floor lamp and a pair of more delicate lounge chairs. The tension between classical architecture and Rafael's bold modern geometry gives the room a collected, design-led quality.

For a Contemporary Eclectic scheme, combine the table with a sculptural sofa in muted blue, olive or burgundy and introduce one patterned or unusually shaped accent chair. Artwork with strong abstract forms can echo Rafael's circular geometry without requiring the surrounding furniture to match.
