Michael Aram | Butterfly Ginkgo Vase – Centerpiece

Product Description

The Michael Aram Butterfly Ginkgo Vase – Centerpiece is a striking sculptural vessel inspired by the extraordinary form of the ginkgo biloba tree. In Michael Aram's interpretation, the familiar fan-shaped ginkgo leaves take on the appearance of delicate butterflies, creating a poetic composition that sits between botanical study and decorative sculpture.

A tall, softly tapered silver-tone vessel provides a restrained backdrop for the elaborate branch that appears to grow organically around its surface. Dark, textural stems sweep upwards around the vase, punctuated by individually sculpted gold-tone ginkgo leaves that introduce warmth, movement and intricate detail.

The contrast between cool silver, dark branches and luminous gold gives the vase considerable presence without overwhelming its elegant silhouette. Beautiful with a considered floral arrangement yet sufficiently sculptural to display empty, it makes an exceptional centrepiece for a dining table, console or entrance hall.

Why You'll Love It

The Butterfly Ginkgo Vase is more than a conventional flower vessel. The branch becomes an integral part of the silhouette, travelling from the base and sweeping upwards beyond the rim to create a sense of natural growth and movement.

Its metallic palette is particularly distinctive. The cool silver body allows the warm golden leaves to stand forward visually, while the dark branch gives the composition definition and depth. Viewed from different angles, the three-dimensional botanical elements continually alter the vase's profile.

It is an especially effective piece for interiors where accessories are selected individually rather than used simply to fill space. Even without flowers, the vase has enough sculptural presence to function as a decorative centrepiece in its own right.

Styling Inspiration

For a Contemporary Luxe interior, position the Butterfly Ginkgo Vase on a substantial marble, travertine or dark timber console. Keep the surrounding accessories minimal and add a large mirror or abstract artwork behind it, allowing the metallic botanical detailing to become the focal point.

For a Collectible Contemporary scheme, display the vase empty as a sculptural object rather than automatically filling it with flowers. Pair it with art books, a monolithic stone object or a restrained ceramic piece while leaving generous negative space around the composition.

In a Boutique Hotel-inspired entrance hall, place it centrally on a large round table or console beneath a statement pendant. A restrained arrangement of architectural branches or foliage will complement the upward movement of the sculpted ginkgo branch without concealing it.

For an Art Deco Glamour setting, combine the vase with dark lacquered furniture, richly veined marble and carefully repeated gold accents. The silver-and-gold palette provides the glamour associated with the style, while the organic ginkgo motif prevents the arrangement from feeling overly formal.

On a luxury dining table, use it as a standalone centrepiece with minimal surrounding decoration. Its tall tapered form and branching botanical detail give the table a strong vertical focal point even when displayed without flowers.
